OFFICIAL CHI CENTRE STATEMENT

You may hear allegations from certain colon hydrotherapy organizations in the UK that only members of their organizations would be allowed to practice colon hydrotherapy under "a new legislation". These allegations are not correct. We have now spoken to the regulator directly.

The VOLUNTARY regulatory body is the Complementary Natural and Healthcare Council (the CNHC)  set up in April 2008. We have been officially told by the CNHC that the future regulation would take into account experiences and standards of all existing naturopathic schools and organizations, which should come together and form a common platform with a common standard under the guidance of the GNC. This will be a great achievement, and we are getting involved in this process. We'll keep you posted.

But for now:
THE LEGAL POSITION

Colon hydrotherapists, by law, have to have insurance in order to practice.  Insurance is provided by a broker who  acts on the basis of the evidence (the diploma or certificate) from an educational establishment recognized by that particular insurer. Chi Centre qualifications are recognized by Royal Sun Alliance that insures our graduates through Shephard-Herriott Insurance Brokers.

Association membership in the UK, albeit very desirable,  is still voluntary, and colon hydrotherapy is a self-regulated discipline.

If you are being told otherwise, please request the information in writing. Please send us a copy of the letter (if you receive it) and we will pass it on to our Member of Parliament and the legal department of our insurers for a response, and the GNC and the CNHC for a comment. No one should be in the position to threaten your future business.

Between 80 and 100 Chi Centre graduates are working in 15 world countries (including over 70 in the UK). They are sole traders, partnerships, limited companies etc going about their business and paying taxes. Talk to them.
